Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026
This is a draft template, not reviewed by a lawyer. Have qualified legal counsel review it — including whether PIPEDA or other applicable privacy law requires additional disclosures — before relying on it as your actual privacy policy.

This Privacy Policy explains what information PatchMatch collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with.

2. How We Use This Information

3. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Your Location

Consultants: when you search for equipment, your device is asked for your current location so we can show the closest Suppliers and how far away each one is. Your location is used only during that search, on your device. It is never stored — not in our database, not in your browser's storage, and not anywhere else — and it is never shown to or shared with Suppliers. If you don't allow location, you can pick your nearest town instead, which is handled the same way. The search distance you choose (for example 100 km) is saved with your account so it's there next time; that's a setting, not a location.

Suppliers: a base location is required to list equipment, because Consultants find Suppliers by distance. It's stored with your listing and can be changed any time in your profile. If you use "Use my current location", that point is saved as your base, so use it from your yard or shop — not from a job site you don't want listed.

Town names and coordinates come from GeoNames (geonames.org, CC BY 4.0), included with the Service — looking up a town doesn't send it to any outside service.

5. Local Storage

The Service uses your browser's local storage to remember a small amount of data on your device (for example, migrating favorites saved before you created an account). A Consultant's location is never kept in local storage. This data stays on your device and isn't transmitted to us directly.

6. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at mbur8755@icloud.com. Note that deleting your Supplier account removes your listing from search, and deleting your Consultant account removes your saved favorites and search history.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
